What is a Warranty?

A common industry standard in Commercial roofing world is to supply a 20 year warranty for any new installation. The definition of what a warranty is, can be quite convoluted. A typical industry standard is to provide a 2 year labor warranty backed by the installing contractor, this warranty covers the roof installation for defects within the first 2 years of that roof’s installation. The following 18 years the roof is backed by the manufacturer.

Do they have a service department?

In the first 2 years of your roof being on, the contractor you have partnered with is required to respond to any water intrusion issues that are reported. The manufacturer’s warranty does not start till after the 2 year mark. So what happens if you have a leak within the first 2 years?

This is underscored by the fact that we maintain a full-time dedicated service department where are technicians are dedicated to providing roof services for roof leaks and general maintenance ONLY. We do not have to pull technicians off other roof installations in order to render the required service. This ensures, not only, that you are getting experienced technicians with expertise in rectifying leaks, but also that you get the service required in a timely manner.

Once the 2 year labor warranty is exhausted, the manufacturer will require you to have your roof audited twice a year in order to maintain your warranty. R/J Group, inc. conducts annual inspections and preventative maintenance on a regular basis and can help you maintain your warranty for the life of that product in order to maximize your roof’s life span.
